Description
The multicast rate could be key for MANET/ipv6 networks. The standard one is 6Mbit/s, so it means the HELLO packages from the routing protocol are sent at this WiFi rate. Increasing it to 54 (for instance) could give the routing protocol a chance to calculate the metrics better and to avoid not-useful connections.
Maybe 54Mbit/s is too high to by a default parameter, but I think 24M would increase the performance of most of the networks.
This WiFi option is defined in the variable mcast_rate of the wireless configuration (openwrt-uci) as shown here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/wireless
Would be nice to be able to configure this option from the web interface too.
