The main purpose of QMP (Quick Mesh Project) is to provide an open and free software solution for the quick deployment of a WiFi network based on Mesh/MANET technology.

The objective of this document is to collect the principal decisions (why and how) taken during the development of the project QMP. Also it tries to be a starting point for all people who want to become involved in the technical aspects of it. However these issues are shown from a general point of view because most of them can be found documented in other places. We are only detailing some points, which are considered the most important ones, directly related and owned by QMP. The idea of this document is that if does not end here, but is extended and improved when system evolves.

A new paper has been accepted and published in the IEEE MWSWIM 2013 conference. It is an analysis about the QMP network deployed in Barcelona (Sants/UPC), taking measures for more than 5 months.

The main objective of this project is to establish a basis for the use of Mesh networks with qMp in Guifi.net, as well as to promote the use of free software in the community.

In this document is detailed the work done to accomplish the objectives. Firstly are explained the decisions and the changes made in the Guifi.net website to adapt it to the qMp Mesh networks. Also is described the creation of a new qMp user-friendly website and the decision to separate the development and the project management from the general information available to users. Finally is explained the new package "qmp-guifi" made for the qMp system, whose purpose is to add some features for the Guifi.net users to make them easy to configure and to use qMp....
