Roaming-Community/Collaborative

QMP permits the configuration of two network modes. Roaming is made to be used in quick deployments. Community is made to be used in static deployments (like Network Community).

Roaming

  1. Double NAT
  2. APs with the same SSID
  3. All AP has the same IP (172.30.22.1)
  4. Captive portal enabled at all nodes
Advantages
  1. Roaming between APs, so a client can change from one AP to another without lost the connectivity
Disadvantages
  1. No connection between clients of different AP

Community

  1. NAT just enabled at internet nodes (ipv4)
  2. APs with different SSID
  3. BMX6 publish the HNA of the LAN network
  4. Captive portal only enabled at internet nodes
Advantages
  1. Clients of different APs are able to see themselves
Disadvantages
  1. There is no roaming between APs
