Description

This is ambiguous:
The AP mode provided in luci "Wireless Settings" is for make point-to-point links, labeled "Master (no DHCP)". I suppose that Client works with that Master, but is not a general Client for wifi connections.

I propose a better documentation as in quick setup

Proposal:
AdHoc (mesh) + Access Point (LAN): dedicates the wifi device to mesh and an Access Point to clients.
AdHoc (mesh): dedicates the wifi device to mesh.
Master (mesh, no DHCP): Master in AP mode for Point-to-Point wifi link
Client (mesh): Client in AP mode for Point-to-Point wifi link
[feature?] Access Point (LAN): dedicates the wifi device as an Access Point to clients

Is missing:
An exclusively and generic (full) AP mode (the mesh can go through ethernet).

Is not working:
The unique mode in Wireless Settings is AP+mesh

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for reporting.

The following wireless modes (L2 and L3) are now available:

  • 802.11s (mesh)
  • Ad-hoc (mesh)
  • Access point (mesh)
  • Client (mesh)
  • Access point (LAN)
  • Client (WAN)
plus some combinations of them:
  • 802.11s (mesh) + Ad-hoc (mesh)
  • 802.11s (mesh) + Access point (LAN)
  • Ad-hoc (mesh) + Access point (LAN)

which, so far, cover the requirements and suggestions made.
